FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
Seeking a Field Service Engineer who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and is comfortable traveling 100% of the time, often spending several weeks on assignment . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving complex equipment issues, and supporting customers through installation, troubleshooting, and system optimization. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING ON DRYERS, BLENDERS, EXTRUSION MACHINES, AND CONVEYORS
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite troubleshooting, repairs, and warranty service on industrial equipment
- Program and debug PLCs using ladder, STL, and structured control languages
- Lead implementation and commissioning of PLC/HMI upgrades and process control systems
- Analyze system and equipment performance to identify root causes and recommend improvements
- Install electrical equipment and controls using detailed drawings, diagrams, and specifications
- Work with robotics, automation systems, and vision technology
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, engineering notes, and technical manuals
- Support customers with safe operation, configuration, and maintenance of industrial machinery
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate designs, conduct testing, and ensure systems meet end-user needs
Requirements
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on maintenance and repair experience
- Solid knowledge of PLCs, robotics, industrial controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
- Skilled in diagnosing faults, replacing components, and restoring equipment to safe operation
- Comfortable operating, servicing, and troubleshooting large machinery and production equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently in the field
- Familiarity with vision systems, CNC equipment, and automation technologies
- Valid driver's license; forklift certification and journeyman electrician credentials are a plus
- Ability to travel continuously and remain on assignment for extended periods
