Job Title: Program Underwriter
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Program Underwriter to join our client to support the evaluation, pricing, and management of a diverse property and casualty book of business. This role focuses on balancing profitable underwriting decisions with high quality service to agents and broker partners. The underwriter will play a key role in maintaining strong carrier relationships, monitoring portfolio performance, and identifying growth opportunities. This is a permanent, hybrid position based in West Chester, PA, with onsite training followed by a flexible in office and remote schedule.
Compensation:
Up to $105,000 per year
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, standard business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Program Underwriter:

• Oversee underwriting activities for new and renewal business, including risk evaluation, pricing analysis, coverage review, and placement decisions
• Manage ongoing relationships with agents, brokers, and carriers while resolving complex inquiries related to premiums, endorsements, audits, and policy changes
• Partner with sales, marketing, and underwriting leadership to support production goals, improve binding opportunities, and contribute to regional growth strategies
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, service standards, and quality control requirements while maintaining accurate and complete underwriting files
• Support team development through knowledge sharing, training assistance, and participation in continuing education initiatives

Qualifications and Skills for the Program Underwriter:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in insurance or a related field
• Four to five years of all lines property and casualty underwriting experience with carrier authority, preferably across multiple carriers
• Active Pennsylvania Property and Casualty license or the ability to obtain licensure within twelve months of hire
• Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to work confidently with carriers, clients, and internal partners
• Highly organized, self directed, and comfortable managing a full underwriting desk using automated systems and Microsoft Office tools
